Drake could have the 2 best-selling albums of 2015

The new Drake-Future mixtape, "What A Time To Be Alive," is expected to hit 500,000 in sales in its first week, according to reports from Chart News and Hits Daily Double.

That's massive.

If it happens, it'll be the biggest album since Drake's last mixtape, "If You're Reading This It's Too Late," sold 495,000 units in its first week in February.

For comparison, the current second-best selling album of 2015, the Weeknd's "Beauty Behind The Madness," hit 326,000 in first-week sales. The closest equivalent to this Drake-Future rap mega-collaboration — Kanye West and Jay-Z's 2011 album "Watch The Throne" — sold 436,000 units in Week One.

This is shaping up to be a huge year for Drake. In August, "If You're Reading This" became the only album released in 2015 to go platinum (one million in US sales). Not only does Drake have a chance to have the two best-selling albums of the year depending on how well "What A Time" does, there's still a possibility that he blows both of those projects out of the water with "Views From The 6" — the proper album the hip hop world has been anticipating for months.

While "If You're Reading This" and "What A Time" are both smash hits, Drake is still referring to them as "mixtapes," seemingly to differentiate them from the canonical part of his discography.

In an Instagram post after "If You're Reading This" went platinum, Drake referenced "Views" and implied that it's on its way.

"Platinum off the tape. Views up next. Thank you once again," he wrote
