The goalkeeper who is originally from Onitsha admitted that Enyeama is the best goalkeeper in the continent and hope to learn from him when they training together in the Super Eagles camp.

"We all know that Enyeama is the best goalkeeper on the continent with lots of experiences; I'm looking forward to working with him," Ikeme told TheNFF.com.
Ikeme also revealed that the Super Eagles call-up was a surprise to him considering that he has not been playing regularly for his club.

"If it was a time I was playing regularly, I wouldn't have been surprised," he said.

"I have just played one game and this cal-up just came, I'm surprised by that," he said.

Ikeme is set to make his first start for Nigeria as Enyeama will not be in the squad to play Tanzania following the death of his mother.
