Star Wars : The Force Awakens' How trailer beat viewing records


'Star Wars : The Force Awakens' has been a source of excitement and controversy, but it still found a way to break records.


According to the official Star Wars website, the latest 'Star Wars' trailer which was released on Monday, October 19. 2015, had 128 million views in just 24 hours.

More than 16 million watched during the broadcast of ESPN's Monday Night Football and a further 112 million fans viewed it on YouTube.




The new record smashes the viewing record of 'Star Wars' second teaser, which had 88 million views in 24 hours.

The movie also broke the record in the ticket selling department as the biggest-ever 24 hours for advance sales in numerous countries.


The upcoming movie stars Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, Kenny Baker, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow, Lupita Nyong’o, Gwendoline Christie, Crystal Clarke, Pip Anderson, Christina Chong and Miltos Yerolemou.

Directed by J.J. Adams, 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' is set for a December 18, 2015 release.
