The figure of a dead body was spotted walking the corridors of an abandoned hospital.
The pictures of the spooky figure was published in the Gazette, readers claimed they could see “a ghost dressed in all white” who looks like a doctor on the corridor.
Posting on Facebook, Jo Griffiths said: “Just looked through the photos and on picture 20 it looks like a man dressed all in white at the end of the corridor!”
Taken in the 90s, the picture of the deserted hospital has scared and sent a shiver down the spine of many.
Once a proud medical institution, the Nunthorpe sanatorium originally opened in 1932 and shut its doors in 1989.
And many people have spooky stories to tell from their time exploring the abandoned site.
Shona Robertson said on Facebook: “Remember going up here on a night loads of us it was a creepy place.”
And Keith Shorten said: “I done security up there on permanent nights when it closed down and believe me I did not look forward to my shifts.”
The main building was demolished around 2002 for housing. Grey Towers Hall has now been converted in to flats.
