9/11 Anniversary Tributes pour out as America remembers victims 14 years later [PHOTOS]

On September 11, 2011, a group of terrorists hijacked four planes and crashed two of them into New York City's World Trade Centre, a third one into the Pentagon in Washington and a fourth on an empty field in Pennsylvania.

2977 people died in the attack, making it one of the deadliest to ever occur within United States territory.

14 years later, Americans still continue the tradition of paying tribute to the lost souls via a series of memorials and also on social media.
