Lamar Odom has reportedly been able to open his eyes and communicate just minutes after doctors confirmed his heart began responding again, Entertainment Tonight reports.
When asked if he wanted to see his children, the 35-year-old former NBA star communicated "Yes," according to a source, though it is unclear if he spoke or used body language.
Odom has two children with ex-girlfriend- 17-year-old Destiny Odom and 13-year-old Lamar Odom Jr. The three, along with Odom's aunt JaNean, flew out of New York City on Wednesday, October 14, to be by the basketball pro's side at Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas.
Speaking out for the first time on Thursday, October 16, Lamar's kids told fans in a joint statement. "Thanks for your outpouring of prayers and support for our dad. We are here with our family and friends. We appreciate everyone respecting our privacy at this time. We ask for your continued prayers."
Odom has been at Sunrise for three days, after being found unconscious on Tuesday at the Love Ranch in Nevada, where he allegedly splashed $75,000 during a four-day stay.
His estranged wife, Khloe Kardashian, has remained by his side since Tuesday night, with many of her family members - including her mom, Kris Jenner, and sisters, Kim Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian and Kylie Jenner - joining her at the hospital, though they have reportedly flown back to Los Angeles.
After suffering a heart attack and organ failure, Odom was placed in a medically induced coma and on dialysis on Wednesday. He opened his eyes after about 72 hours in the coma, and was previously told he was in critical condition, claims the site.
