10 films have been chosen for the Visual Effects (VFX) category for the 2016 Oscars race.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science have announced that 10 films will advance in the voting process.
All members of the Visual Effects Branch will view 10-minute excerpts from each of the shortlisted films on Saturday, January 9, 2016, after which members will vote to nominate five films for final Oscar consideration.

4. Jurassic World
5. Mad Max: Fury Road
6. The Martian
7. The Revenant
8. Star Wars: The Force Awakens
9. Tomorrowland
10.The Walk
The 88th Academy Awards nominations will be announced live on Thursday, January 14, 2016, at 5:30 a.m. PT at the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills.
The 88th Oscars which will be hosted by Chris Rock, will hold on Sunday, February 28, 2016, at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood and Highland Center in Hollywood.
